History of NIET
The National Institute of Engineering & Technology (NIET) was founded through the vision, dedication, and unwavering commitment of two farsighted engineers Engineer Abdul Alim and Engineer Abdul Aziz. Their goal was to build a technical education institution where students could receive quality education and grow into skilled, self-reliant professionals.
NIET was established in 2009, and academic activities officially began in 2010. From the very beginning, the institute has emphasized quality education, discipline, and result-oriented teaching, quickly earning the trust of students and guardians.
NIET consistently follows the modern curriculum and guidelines of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board. Alongside theoretical knowledge, students are prepared for real-world careers through practical training, modern laboratory facilities, and experienced faculty members.
Since its inception, NIET has achieved strong academic results, a high pass rate, and successful graduate careers, establishing itself as one of the country’s leading polytechnic institutions. Through continuous infrastructure development, academic expansion, and quality improvement, NIET has become a trusted and reputable name in technical education.

The core mission of the National Institute of Engineering and Technology (NIET) is to bring a qualitative and transformative change to Bangladesh’s technical education sector. Our goal is not only to produce certified engineers, but to develop skilled, innovative professionals capable of facing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We focus on three key pillars: delivering international-standard, practical-oriented education with advanced labs and industry-focused training; fostering ethics, discipline, and professionalism to build responsible and patriotic engineers; and encouraging research and innovation in modern technologies such as IoT, Artificial Intelligence, and software engineering. Through this mission, NIET is committed to building a self-reliant, globally competent workforce for a Smart Bangladesh.
